FlipTheScriptNow.org Coalition Launching Anti-Bullying Initiative
SALT LAKE CITY – An anti-bullying coalition led by SLC Council Member Charlie Luke will present on Tuesday, Feb. 12, a long-term citywide campaign to help reduce bullying in Salt Lake by raising awareness to the problem and offering local resources for prevention.
The launch of the multimedia campaign for the anti-bullying public education initiative includes six weeks of activities aimed at awareness and action for a problem getting attention across the state. The public service media campaign is built on donated television, radio, online media and creative services from local sponsors: R&R Partners and Comcast. The press conference will include civic leaders, parents and a performance by the Hillside Middle School Choir, plus details of public and private partnerships and the varied activities.
The coalition grew out a constituent problem presented to Luke, which followed with a “Bully” movie director’s screening in Salt Lake. The SLC Council supports the coalition, and the group has received input and support from various institutions, agencies, private organizations and individuals.
