 “Soup N’ Bowl” Event Scheduled for Friday, March 1st
The St.George Art Museum’s annual “Soup N’ Bowl” luncheon and fundraiser will takeplace Friday, March 1, 2013 between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM in the Social Hall onthe Museum’s campus at 200 North Main in St. George. 
This annualcommunity event gives residents the opportunity to enrich their lives with art,have a light lunch, choose a hand-crafted bowl to take home and support the ArtMuseum at the same time. 
A silentauction will give attendees a chance to bid on pottery works of art made bylocal professional artists including Glen Blakley, Dr. John M. & Suzanne Jennings,and Joe Viers, as well as pieces from Art Festival ceramic artists.  Those in attendance will see the retail valueof items up for bid and be able to write their bids on paper forms next to thearticle.  Winners will be announced atthe end of the luncheon.                                   Bowlscrafted by Blakley, Jennings and Viers and many other local potters will beadded to the collection ofbowls to choose from at the event, as well asothers made by students in the pottery programs at DSC, and other schools.  Those who pay the $20 luncheon fee will beable to choose a bowl to take home from this collection.  Bargain Bowls will also be available topurchase for attendees, as well as drawings.            The “Soup N’Bowl” provides an excellent opportunity for residents to support their localArt Museum and at the same time choose quality pottery art pieces from localartists. Past annual“Soup N’ Bowls” have raised significant amounts that the Art Museum has beenable to use to support displays and purchase paintings for the Museum’spermanent collection.            Ourheartfelt and grateful thanks to the cash sponsors of 2013:   Zions Bank, Town & Country Bank,AmericanWest Bank as well as the important in-kind sponsors:  Steamroller Copies , Alsco Linens, DesertLight Pottery, ZIA Pottery, SunRiver, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Xetava GardensRestaurant, Harmons Grocery Store, Dixie State College Art Department (GlenBlakley) and the City of St. George.
